Keeping your pool ozone generator running at peak performance requires periodic part replacements. This guide covers every replacement part you may need, where to find them, what they cost, and how to know when it is time to order.

UV ozone generators rely on a mercury vapor lamp emitting light at 185 nanometers to produce ozone. This is the most frequently replaced part in any UV-based ozone system.
Replace the UV lamp every 12–18 months regardless of whether it still glows. The 185nm ozone-producing wavelength degrades faster than the visible light the lamp emits. A lamp that appears to work may produce little to no ozone.
Performance signs: Rising chlorine demand, increasing chloramines (combined chlorine above 0.2 ppm), or declining water clarity after months of normal performance all suggest a depleted lamp.
UV lamps are model-specific. You need the exact replacement for your generator:
Do not substitute a different lamp — even a lamp that physically fits may emit the wrong wavelength or wattage. Only 185nm lamps produce ozone; standard germicidal lamps (254nm) kill bacteria but do not create ozone.
The corona discharge cell is the most expensive consumable part in a CD ozone generator but also the longest-lasting. These cells degrade gradually, so performance loss is often subtle until output drops significantly.
CD cells are proprietary to each manufacturer. Always order from the original manufacturer or authorized dealer:
The tubing connecting your generator to the venturi injector must be ozone-rated. Standard vinyl, PVC, or rubber tubing degrades within weeks of ozone exposure, becoming brittle, cracked, and eventually causing system failure.

For most residential installations, PTFE or ozone-grade silicone tubing with a 3/8″ or 1/4″ inner diameter is ideal. Purchase 6–10 feet to have extra on hand for future replacements.
The check valve prevents water from flowing backward from the venturi into the ozone tubing and generator. This is a critical safety component — a failed check valve can destroy the generator within minutes.
Replace the check valve every 2–3 years or immediately if you see water in the ozone tubing.
Quality venturi injectors (Mazzei-style) are extremely durable and rarely need replacement. When they do, it is usually due to mineral scaling that cannot be cleaned or physical damage.
Match the venturi to your plumbing size (typically 1.5″ or 2″ for residential pools) and ensure the suction port fits your ozone tubing diameter. Mazzei injectors are available in multiple sizes with published flow rate and suction specifications — match these to your pump’s output at the venturi location.
Corona discharge generators with integrated air preparation use indicating desiccant beads (typically silica gel with a cobalt-free moisture indicator) to remove humidity from incoming air.
Some desiccants can be regenerated by heating in an oven (250°F / 120°C for 2–3 hours). Others are single-use. Check your generator’s manual for specific instructions.
If purchasing new desiccant, use the same type and quantity specified by the manufacturer. Generic indicating silica gel beads work for most applications — verify bead size and indicator type match.
